Adidas and Paul Pogba Launch First-Ever 100% Vegan Football Boot

Adidas has unveiled a groundbreaking 100% vegan football boot: the Paul Pogba x adidas by Stella McCartney PREDATOR FREAK. This limited-edition, gender-neutral silhouette merges Stella McCartney’s sustainable design ethos with the elite performance demands of World Cup winner Paul Pogba, marking the first fully vegan release in the iconic PREDATOR franchise.

Collaboration Rooted in “The Huddle”

The partnership originated from a conversation between Pogba and Stella McCartney during adidas’ The Huddle content series in May 2020. Hosted during lockdown, the discussion revealed their shared passion for fashion, sport, and brand building, ultimately planting the seed for this football-fashion co-creation.

Materials and Construction

Every material and component in the boot was analysed to meet both vegan standards and elite performance requirements. The clean white PRIMEKNIT upper features distinctive leopard and Earth Protector graphics, while adidas DEMONSKIN rubber spikes – calibrated by algorithm for improved ball control and swerve – appear in signal orange.

Unique Stella McCartney Detailing

Signature Stella McCartney touches include an opalescent finish and an ombré rainbow mirror metallic plate and heel logo. This marks the first time a football boot has carried such a reflective feature.

Paul Pogba on the Collaboration

“I am a footballer first and foremost, but I have a huge interest in fashion and design and I’ve always wanted to explore this further. This collaboration has been particularly special for me because I’ve been a fan of Stella McCartney’s work for a long time, so when we came together for The Huddle last year and had this idea, it felt like the perfect opportunity to create something. It was in the middle of lockdown and I was missing playing football so much, so it was an incredible feeling to be able to focus on something that combines my love for the game with my passion for style. The boots we created with adidas are bold and unique, and I can’t wait to wear them when I step onto the pitch.”
