adidas x Parley Pack: Eco-Friendly Football Boots Made from Ocean Waste

The German sportswear brand continues its long-standing partnership with Parley for the Oceans, a non-profit environmental organization that has been working since 2012 to protect the world’s oceans. Previous collaborations have included apparel and iconic footwear such as the adidas Ultraboost. Now, for the first time, all silos of adidas football boots have been manufactured using recycled materials derived directly from ocean plastics and waste.

This pack covers three key boot silos: the adidas X SpeedPortal, adidas Predator Accuracy, and adidas Copa Pure. By using recycled ocean plastic in their construction, adidas and Parley aim to inspire and mobilize younger generations to help protect marine environments.

Design and Materials

The visual design features white and green tones that evoke ocean colors. Where it is not possible to use ocean plastic directly, recycled polyester is employed instead. The remaining parts of the boot shells are coated with blue lines that clearly represent sea waves.

Technical Changes Across the Silos

adidas Copa Pure

The most significant changes appear in the Copa Pure silo. It no longer uses natural leather; instead, the entire upper is made from the recycled materials, while still delivering the natural touch and clean feel of the original model. Another detail: this silo will not be available in a laceless version.

For the X SpeedPortal and Predator Accuracy, material changes are also present, although to a lesser degree. The same fit and grip technologies are retained – for example, in the Predator – to ensure maximum performance while raising awareness about the need to safeguard the oceans.
