adidas Y‑3 Reawakens A Legend As The +F50 Tunit ‘Beast Pack’ Returns In Sneaker Form

Two decades after it first entered football folklore, adidas’ Y-3 imprint has resurrected the mythical +F50 Tunit Beast Pack — this time as street-ready sneakers rather than on-pitch boots. The collection, originally released in 2006 ahead of the World Cup in Germany, has been reimagined for modern culture, trading studs for a flat platform while preserving the cult artwork that made it legendary.

The Original Beast Pack: A Football Folklore

Back in 2006, Yohji Yamamoto’s Y-3 dropped a four-pair capsule built around artist Taishi Hayashi’s iconic designs: Dragon, Tiger, Eagle, and Wolf. Each represented a different facet of speed, aggression, hunger, and vision. Released in extremely limited quantities, the +F50 Tunit Beast Pack became one of adidas’ rarest creations, known to most only through grainy forum photos and whispered stories.

Y-3’s Street-Ready Transformation

For the FW26 Paris runway, Y-3 sent the Wolf onto the catwalk — a symbolic re-awakening of a boot that once felt too wild for its own era. The revival is not a simple nostalgia tour. Everything has been sharpened, reframed, and recontextualised. Where the original terrified defenders, the new silhouette is designed to prowl the pavement. Where studs once sat underfoot, now there is a flat, wider platform — broader than anything in the current adidas Football lineup. The +F50 branding is gone, while the artwork is reverently maintained with Y-3’s unmistakable precision.

It’s heritage, but hacked. It’s performance DNA recoded for fashion. It’s Yohji Yamamoto doing what he does best: bending sport into art.

A Full-Circle Flex for Football-Fashion Crossover

The original Beast Pack represented a turning point — when football boots became canvases. Yohji Yamamoto saw the pitch as a runway long before it was fashionable, and the Beast Pack was the moment he said it out loud. Bringing it back as sneakers taps into the rising wave of football-fashion crossover, with the credibility of someone who helped build that wave in the first place.

The +F50 Beast Pack was born ahead of a World Cup. Twenty years later, it returns ahead of another, but this time as an altered beast.
