Admiral continues its deep dive into musical nostalgia by partnering with the Sex Pistols for a limited-edition football jersey. The campaign, fronted by former England defender Stuart Pearce, celebrates the 50th anniversary of the band’s debut single “Anarchy in the U.K.” and the lasting links between punk culture and terrace life.
The Collaboration: 50 Years of Anarchy
Admiral has spent its recent renaissance drawing from iconic music acts, including Bob Marley, Fatboy Slim, and the Spice Girls. This latest release marks half a century since the Sex Pistols released “Anarchy in the U.K.,” a single that reshaped British music culture and seeped into youth culture—including football terraces.
In 1976, as the band toured their first single, adverts began appearing in football programmes across the country. Punk and football shared tribal energy, volatility, and a raw, alive spirit.

Stuart Pearce: The Punk Commander-in-Chief
Admiral chose Stuart Pearce, known as “Psycho,” to lead the campaign. Pearce’s connection to the band runs deep.
“I was always into Punk,” Pearce says. “Ever since I saw the Sex Pistols on the Bill Grundy Show it felt like something I wanted to be a part of!”
In 1996, he introduced the band on stage in London, sandwiched between England’s Euro ’96 quarter-final win over Spain and the semi-final against Germany, embodying the crossover between football passion and punk rebellion.

Design Details and Punk Aesthetic
The campaign imagery reimagines those original 1970s programme adverts—grainy textures, retro layouts, authentic attitude—updated for 2026 with Pearce as the central figure.

The black base jersey features graphic elements lifted from the Pistols’ artwork. Front and center is the iconic slogan “Never mind the bollocks, here’s The Sex Pistols,” occupying the sponsor slot. Old-school Admiral branding sits on the chest, and a pin-badge-style crest adds rebellious authenticity.

The jersey represents a meeting of football and subculture, combining terrace heritage with punk-flyer energy.
