Cesena FC and Italian sportswear brand Erreà have unveiled the Bianconeri’s away kit for the 2025/26 season. The design marks the return of the historic logo created by Piero Gratton to the Cesena shirt for the first time in 45 years. For supporters of the Cavalluccio, this release re-establishes a visual link to one of the club’s most celebrated eras.
A Return to Heritage
The new away strip is more than a colour change. Every detail is rooted in Romagna football tradition, bridging decades of club history while projecting forward ambition. Erreà and Cesena have created a kit that honours the past without sacrificing a modern aesthetic.
The Gratton Seahorse Legacy
The centrepiece of the design is the Cavalluccio – the sea horse emblem crafted in the late 1970s by Italian designer Piero Gratton. This crest gave the team its iconic nickname and last appeared on a Cesena shirt during the 1980/81 season. That campaign is remembered fondly by fans, as Adriano Piraccini led the club to promotion from Serie B to Serie A.
Design Details
The same crest that adorned the 1980 shirt now sits over the heart once more, linking that promotion-winning era to the present day. The visuals of the kit, however, look firmly forward. The base is jet black, cleanly cut by a single horizontal white band across the chest. This monochrome palette gives the design an understated yet elegant look, allowing the historic crest to take centre stage. Along the sides, Gratton’s seahorse reappears in subtle graphic patterns – a quiet nod to the club’s rich history.
