The official programme and team line-ups for the charity match ‘Joga pelas crianças’ were presented last Wednesday at the UBBO shopping centre in Amadora, Lisbon. The event was hosted at the local store, with the support of sponsors including Fútbol Emotion. The match aims to raise funds for Portugal’s most disadvantaged children, with proceeds going to the Portuguese Red Cross.
Event Presentation and Attendees
The presentation was led by the founder of the ‘Joga pelas crianças’ initiative, Fernando Domingues, alongside the acting president of the Portuguese Red Cross, Dr Agostinho Miranda. The captains of both competing teams were also present: Costinha, representing Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa, and Marco Caneira, representing the ‘Joga pelas crianças’ initiative. Bruno Ferreira, presenter of Fútbol Emotion’s Portuguese-language YouTube channel, moderated the event. Referees Pedro Henriques and Marco Pina attended, as did Jorge Corrula, Joana Cruz, and Chef Chakall.
Match Day Details
The charity match will take place on 3 June at José Alvalade Stadium. The gates open at 4 p.m., and the match kicks off at 6 p.m.
Ticket Pricing
Tickets are available to support the cause. Student tickets cost €2.50 for members of Sporting Clube de Portugal and members of ‘Joga pelas crianças’. General admission is €5.00 for those aged 13 and above. Children up to 12 years old (inclusive) enter free of charge when accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket, with a maximum of four children per adult.
The organisers extended their thanks to the staff at the UBBO shopping centre in Amadora for their support in making the event a success.
