FC Augsburg and Mizuno have completed their 2025/26 collection with the release of a third kit that draws on the club’s ancient Roman heritage. The new design, referred to as the ‘Roman’ kit, follows the same heritage-driven approach that marked last season’s third shirt.
A Design Rooted in History
The kit is built around the campaign slogan ‘Augusta Vindelicum’ – the Latin name for the city of Augsburg. At first glance, the shirt appears as an all-black canvas, but a closer look reveals a richly embossed pattern on both the front and back. This texture is inspired by Roman-era artefacts discovered beneath the grounds of the club’s WWK Arena. The intricate patterns are intended to reflect the club’s historical identity.




Black and Gold: A Regal Palette
Gold detailing elevates the overall aesthetic. The FC Augsburg crest and Mizuno logo are rendered entirely in gold. Golden accents also trim the sleeve cuffs and collar, giving the shirt a refined, imperial look.






Roman Numerals and Heritage Details
On the back of the shirt, the Roman numerals ‘MCMVII’ appear in gold, referencing FC Augsburg’s founding year of 1907. The players’ names and numbers adopt a Roman-inspired typeface, drawing design cues from Augsburg’s historical ruins.
