As 2018 draws to a close, Futbol Emotion Academy takes a moment to recognize the outstanding young goalkeepers who have shone across its training centres in Spain. During the Christmas break, many students participated in intensive clinics at 20 venues nationwide, while others rested ahead of the new year. The academy’s coaching staff have selected the following goalkeepers as the best performers for December 2018.
La Roda (Albacete) Centre
At the La Roda centre, David Bueno was named goalkeeper of the month. The coaching staff highlighted his enthusiasm, optimism and positive attitude in every training session, which have driven his steady progress. Raimundo Salas, coordinator of the Albacete academy and coach of Fundación Albacete in the Iberdrola League and Albacete B, holds great faith in this young goalkeeper’s potential.
Barcelona Region: Sabadell and Granollers
Futbol Emotion Academy takes particular pride in its emerging schools in Sabadell and Granollers, run and coordinated by Josep Sallent. The effort, hard work and sacrifice of both coaches and goalkeepers – who attend weekly to share their passion for goalkeeping and continue learning together – are truly remarkable.
Aritz Gabriel – Sabadell
Aritz Gabriel, a young goalkeeper from the Sabadell school, possesses innate abilities that place him at a technical and tactical level far beyond what one might expect for his age.
Javier Ortega – Barcelona Training Centre
Javier Ortega has been recognised for his fine performances and commitment, alongside his exceptional natural talent. The coaching staff believe he is set to become a name to watch in the future of Catalan and Spanish football.
Bilbao
Coordinator Gaizka Egaña selected three goalkeepers who most deserved the honour during the final month of 2018.
Ekaitz Aguilar
One of the standout goalkeepers, Ekaitz Aguilar proudly posed with his certificate and Goalkeeper of the Month award.
Eneko Hernando
Eneko Hernando, a veteran of the academy and various events, continues to surpass himself month after month. His potential seems limitless.
Oier Aguilar
The final standout goalkeeper of the year is Oier Aguilar, recognised for his progress and hard work each week under Gaizka’s guidance.
Pontevedra Academy
At the Pontevedra academy – the most intimate and small-scale of the academies this season – goalkeepers receive personalised attention and unique support. César Pazos, academy coordinator and goalkeeping coach for Celta de Vigo’s youth teams, highlighted Fernando as the December goalkeeper of the month.
Valencia Branch
The Valencia branch continues at full capacity, with every category fully enrolled. Thanks to former Valencia CF professional goalkeeper Jorge Bartual’s excellent organisation, the Albuixech academy is fully booked every Monday. From the large number of goalkeepers training under ‘La Araña Negra’, two have been highlighted.
Pau
Congratulations to Pau on being the last Goalkeeper of the Month for 2018.
Rubén
Little Rubén posed proudly with a new boot bag won through his hard work, daily effort and dedication, which help him grow and improve each week.
Zaragoza Academy
The Zaragoza academy, with the highest number of participants (more than 40 pupils each week), highlighted two goalkeepers.

Adrián Rodrigo Calvo received the award alongside his teammates.
Adrián Garrido
Adrián Garrido has shown real progress thanks to his hard work and the support of excellent coaches, led by Adrián Sanguino, one of the leading coaches at Futbol Emotion Academy.
