Messi x Bad Bunny: A New adidas F50 Collaboration

The latest link-up between adidas and Bad Bunny brings together two global superstars in a limited-edition football boot collection. While the pair have previously collaborated on lifestyle silhouettes such as the Forum and the Gazelle, this new release marks the first time the German brand has fused Bad Bunny’s distinctive aesthetic with the on-pitch demands of Lionel Messi.

The Collaboration

The collection centres on the adidas F50 – the specific model worn by the Argentinian legend – alongside the adidas Gazelle, one of the brand’s most recognisable court-style boots. Rather than a simple co-branded effort, the design intentionally blends elements from both athletes’ worlds.

Design Details

The base colour is an ochre or bronze tone, a shade that fits within the current popular chromatic range. Light blue accents are added throughout, referencing the colours of the Argentinian flag.

In a notable twist, the tribute flows from Messi to the artist. Bad Bunny’s latest album mentions the footballer up to five times, and the boot’s insole – along with the box – carries a slogan that reflects this mutual exchange.

One boot features Leo’s name, while the other displays “Benito”, a name seen on previous Bad Bunny footwear collections. Additional logos and names appear on the upper and heel, visually pairing the two stars.

Technical Features

On the performance side, the boot uses the same modified upper that Messi wears. It incorporates Hybridtouch technology taken directly from earlier F50 versions. The burrito tongue returns, finished with more light blue detailing in reference to Benito.
