Mizuno has announced a statement boot marking its return to the speed boot category. The new Morelia Neo II Beta is the lightest Morelia ever produced, limited to just 3,500 pairs worldwide.
Design and Construction
The Neo II Beta is a stripped-down model of the Morelia with radical changes to the traditional K‑leather upper. The forefoot features a much thinner K‑leather, while the midfoot and heel use a fiber weave material. Each modified component was necessary to achieve the 5.9‑ounce weight, making this the first Mizuno release in recent years to drop below six ounces. The overall look and feel is similar to the Puma evoSPEED SL releases.
Colorway and Aesthetic
A mix of Silver and Gold is used across the upper, giving the boot a timeless appearance. Gold appears on the Runbird logo and is speckled through the laces for added dimension. The result is a sharp, visually appealing boot intended to attract fans of the brand.
