Football boots are designed with specific soleplates to match different playing surfaces and conditions. Firm Ground (FG) Football Boots

Firm Ground boots, commonly called moulded stud boots, are intended primarily for natural grass pitches. Their studs are typically made from rubber or similar materials and are less abrasive than SG variants, reducing the risk of injury by not digging too deeply into the ground. FG boots have at least 12 studs that help distribute the player’s weight evenly. The studs can be conical or bladed in shape.

Unlike AG (Artificial Grass) boots, moulded studs are best used on hard natural grass. Using FG boots on softer or artificial surfaces can accelerate wear on the upper and cause the boot to deteriorate prematurely.
