The Crazylight concept is back. adidas has once again stripped its speed silo to the absolute minimum, making the X the lightest football boot on the market. This is not the first time the three stripes brand has dared to go this far, and hopefully it will not be the last. In terms of innovation and boldness, Crazylight sits at the top of football boot design.
Upper and AEROCAGE Support
The most distinctive element is the upper. The minimal amount of material used on the adidas X Crazylight is striking at first glance – it seems almost impossible that such a construction could remain stable during high-speed actions. Yet it does, thanks to AEROCAGE technology. This internal structure provides all the support needed to play football.
Lacing and Tongue
In the midfoot area, a classic tongue is built under the SL label. The same applies to the laces. SL stands for Super Light, highlighting the reduced weight and minimal material used in this part of the adidas X Crazylight.
Outsole and Performance
Moving to the outsole, there is no visual change, but a functional one. The plate located under the studs, which previously had a carbon-fibre look, has switched to a more reactive fibre compound. The adidas X Crazyfast boots are designed to boost the speed of whoever wears them, and the upgraded plate offers that extra hundredth of a second that can make the difference.
