The American brand New Balance updates its futsal range with the Audazo V5, also known as the NBST edition. Drawing from street culture and fan lifestyle, the fifth generation of this shoe offers a distinct take on the standard version, blending breathable materials with proven cushioning technology. While the domestic futsal market in Spain remains dominated by legacy brands, New Balance continues to establish its presence with this new release.

Having set the bar high with the previous Audazo V4, the brand returns with a fifth generation that takes a different approach. Although on the market for a few months, this restyling offers a lifestyle-focused update. The NBST acronym reflects the way of experiencing football, with fashion and street culture taking centre stage. As noted in the review of the Audazo V5, the shoe feels well suited for street wear, and that impression is reinforced here.
Design and Upper Construction
Aesthetically, New Balance opts for an understated look with muted colours that suit the coming season. The upper uses a breathable construction: suede on the toe cap and mesh on both the inner and outer sides. This differs significantly from the launch model, which was made entirely from natural leather covering the whole shoe.
Ankle Support and Toe Cap
For superior ankle support, the tubular design returns, featuring Ariaprene synthetic foam that balances stability, compression, flexibility, and breathability. The shoe retains a highly abrasion-resistant inner toe cap to maintain its shape and ensure safe shooting.
Cushioning and Outsole
Cushioning is provided by New Balance’s REVlite technology in the midsole, which is 5% more responsive than previous versions while maintaining grip and stability needed for multi-directional futsal movement. The midsole blends with a retro-style caramel-coloured outsole made from wear-resistant rubber. The outsole combines herringbone patterns for grip, grooves for flexibility, and a strong pivot point to protect joints during turns.
