Nike is marking the 25th anniversary of one of soccer’s fastest boot lines by releasing the Disruption Mercurial Vapor 15 Elite XXV and Mercurial Superfly 9 Elite XXV. The limited special-edition Vapor honors the “disruptive lineage” that began in 1998 with the legendary Ronaldo. The design defines a generation of speed and aims to inspire play for the future.
Design and Colorway
The boots blend iconic colors synonymous with the Mercurial line. The silver finish amplifies the presence of the Zoom Air component—a three-quarter length articulated airbag engineered specifically for soccer players.
Zoom Air Technology
The Mercurial Superfly’s Zoom airbag includes flex grooves for flexibility and sits directly inside the soleplate. This placement brings the foot closer to the field for maximum snappy, propulsive energy return.
Upper and Support System
A redesigned Vaporposite+ upper combines grip-enhancing chevron mesh with a Flyknit lining to improve ball control at high speeds. A data-driven “Speed Cage” support system provides lockdown for the foot.
Traction and Stud Design
Underfoot, the Air Zoom Mercurial’s new Tri-Star stud design powers both lateral and downhill movement, enabling faster play in all directions.
