The functional elements of the ball remain unchanged from the 2020/21 season. After seven years of development, Nike created the first ball with just four panels stitched together to form a spherical shape—a bold move that has proven successful. The outer layer features grooves known as Aerowsculpt technology, which increases in‑flight stability by 30%. Additionally, Nike’s ACC technology provides optimal grip under all weather and atmospheric conditions, a hallmark of the brand’s ball design.
Design Changes for the 2021/22 Season
