Nike released a limited-edition Mercurial Superfly “South Korea” as part of the brand’s 2020 collection honoring the “Land of the Morning Calm.” The design draws inspiration from the Korean flag, a sacred animal in Korean mythology, and the country’s cultural heritage. Every element of the release—from the boot itself to the boot bag and packaging—features intricate detailing.
Design Details and Colorway
The upper showcases an animal-style zigzag print in black on white. The Swoosh transitions from Korean blue to red, while the forefoot soleplate delivers an iridescent effect. Korean text appears on the heel.
Limited Release in South Korea
Nike kept the Mercurial Superfly “South Korea” as an exclusive release available only in South Korea. The design received praise for its unique aesthetic, drawing comparisons to the brand’s earlier Nigerian Naija collection from 2018.
Accompanying 2020 South Korea Collection
The Mercurial Superfly is joined by a Mercurial Vapor in the same colorway, a special-edition Air Max 95, and home and away kits for the South Korean national team, completing the 2020 collection.
