Nike has unveiled the next-generation Phantom 6, a football boot shaped by athlete data and performance insights. Designed to answer the demands of top-tier attackers, the Phantom 6 blends modern technology with the aggressive DNA of the iconic Hypervenom silo.
Precision and Grip: The Gripknit Upper
The Phantom 6 features a refined Gripknit upper with a softer, more tactile feel and a new microtextured surface for closer ball contact. The strike zone has been enhanced with extra grip, offering improved ball manipulation and precision in key moments. This new evolution of Gripknit is also available across multiple price points, making elite-level tech accessible to more players.
Inspired by the Hypervenom Legacy
Nike looked to the past to move forward. The Hypervenom Phantom, recently celebrated with a limited-edition rerelease, provided the blueprint for the Phantom 6. Its aggressive, attacking nature now flows through the new boot, from the plate to the upper, updated for today’s modern player.
Cyclone 360 Soleplate for Faster Dribbling
Nike’s internal data shows players are significantly faster on the ball in the Phantom 6. This is achieved through the new Cyclone 360 soleplate, which combines the agility of the original 360 plate with Hypervenom 3-inspired flex zones and an added row of integrated conical studs for increased rotational traction. The plate is designed for quick, surgical movement in tight spaces.
New Last and Two Silhouettes
The Phantom 6 introduces Nike’s first new last in nearly a decade. The toe box is 3mm shorter and 1mm higher for a more natural, true-to-size fit, reducing distraction and enabling instinctive play. Two silhouettes share one philosophy:
- Phantom Low: Features a Flyknit quarter for locked-in heel comfort, combined with the tuned strike zone and microtextured Gripknit.
- Phantom High: Brings back Ghost Lacing for clean contact and lockdown, with more Gripknit across the upper for an even finer touch.
Debut with Erling Haaland
The Phantom 6 will be debuted by Manchester City striker Erling Haaland during the upcoming Club World Cup. Haaland epitomises the brute force and precision finishing that define the Phantom 6’s ethos – a boot designed to weaponise instinct and elevate impact.
