Design and Construction

The standout design element is the encapsulated embossed pattern that covers the entire back of the hand. Nike equips the Phantom Elite with its Contact Grip palm, a 4 mm latex design. The latex is intended for soft, natural grass pitches where it delivers high grip. On abrasive surfaces, durability and resistance are reduced. The palm includes a thumb tip and a wrap featuring Nike’s ACC (All Conditions Control) technology.
Nike chose a negative cut for the palm, which hugs the fingers closely and provides a secure feel. Between the fingers, a breathable fabric helps manage sweat during intense play.
Closure and Fit
The glove closes with an extension of the back panel combined with an elasticated strap featuring two Velcro fastenings. The latex section does not extend to the wristband, a detail that is present on other Nike gloves. The elasticated strap is extra wide and single‑wrap, making it easy to secure the glove while also acting as a functional bandage.
