After earlier stops in Los Angeles and Seoul, Nike’s global street football platform Toma El Juego made its Latin American debut in Mexico City. The one-day takeover took place at the iconic Anahuacalli Museum, blending sport, music, food, and community into a celebration of the game as it is played on the streets.
A Celebration of Street Football Culture
Toma El Juego is built around raw, stripped-back football. Twelve teams of men and women competed in a 3v3 format. Captains — a mix of legends, athletes, and cultural figures — handpicked players from across the city. The teams advanced through group stages and knockout rounds before a final match crowned the champions.

Star-Studded Line-Up and Tournament Action
The football was the core of the event, but the wider experience turned the night into something bigger. Global icon Ronaldinho appeared alongside Mexican great Jorge Campos and current national team players Alexis Vega, Diego Reyes, and Erik Lira.

More Than Football: Music, Food, and Creativity
Music performances from El Malilla and Cachirula kept the energy high. Culinary offerings and customization zones gave the crowd a taste of local culture layered with Nike’s global vision.

What’s Next for Toma El Juego
After its Mexico City stop, Toma El Juego is set to travel to Peru and Chile, with a broader rollout to Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia in 2026. For Nike, the platform signals that football culture in Latin America is youth-led, unapologetically expressive, and ready to take centre stage.
Toma El Juego is built by Nike but born from the community — a celebration of the joy, freedom, and creativity that street football has always represented. Mexico City was the stage this time, but the movement is only just beginning.
