A Personal Battle with Testicular Cancer
In the summer of 2022, Borussia Dortmund signed Haller to replace Erling Haaland, who had moved to Manchester City. Haller arrived after two highly successful seasons with Ajax, promising much for his new club.
Just days after signing, however, the then‑28‑year‑old was diagnosed with testicular cancer. The news shocked both Haller and the Dortmund team, who had high expectations for their new signing.
Despite the diagnosis, Haller refused to let cancer define him. He underwent two surgeries and four rounds of chemotherapy.
