Design Inspired by the Champions Hymn
The unique detail of this new official ball is a letter from the “THE CHAMPIONS” chorus text placed on each of the 12 stars. The stars sit on a metallic silver background and are rendered in a stylish calligraphy.
The Iconic UEFA Champions League Anthem
The legendary UEFA Champions League anthem has been the tournament’s soundtrack since 1992. It was composed by British composer Tony Britten, a graduate of the Royal College of Music. The song lasts three minutes and is performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Its two verses and chorus are sung in UEFA’s three official languages (English, German and French) by the Choir of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields.
A Personalised Anthem for the UEFA Women’s Champions League
Since 2021, a custom anthem has also been designed for the UEFA Women’s Champions League, marking a new era for women’s football. Accordingly, the new ball for female players incorporates the song’s lyrics on two star panels, creating a circular head motif in orange. The remaining ten stars feature a wavy pink and purple print, using the same words from the anthem but enlarged to make the design more striking.
