Xavi Hernández Bows Out of La Liga with Commemorative adidas Predator Instinct Boots

Xavi Hernández may be playing his final La Liga minutes. The 34‑year‑old midfielder, one of Spain’s greatest footballers, continues to produce brilliant moments this season. Recognising his imminent departure, adidas has designed a special edition Predator Instinct to honour his 17 seasons wearing the FC Barcelona jersey in La Liga – a career spent almost entirely in adidas Predator boots.

A Lifelong Bond with One Club, One Boot

Xavi is not only a “one‑club man” – he has been equally loyal to his footwear. After leaving Umbro (the brand he used in Barça’s youth teams), he briefly wore the adidas Copa Mundial before settling on the adidas Predator. The boot has accompanied him throughout his entire professional career, through countless successful moments.

Custom Edition Celebrates 17 Seasons

To commemorate 17 years as a professional, adidas has unveiled a custom‑coloured Predator Instinct. The design features red, yellow and blue – a clear nod to the three colours Xavi has worn as a professional: FC Barcelona’s blaugrana and Spain’s national team kit.

Tribute details include the number 6 on the outsole – his shirt number with Barça (he wears number 8 for Spain) – and his name on the heel.

Limited Run, Not for Sale

Xavi first wore the commemorative boots during the match against Atlético de Madrid. Only 17 pairs have been produced – one for each La Liga season he has played. None will be sold commercially; the pairs are reserved for Xavi and adidas, as well as their partners and liabilities.
